Gsm Modules For Electronics Projects!?

Hello guys,
I have started working on a project that will help track vehicles. I want to use a GPS module in conjunction with a suitable GSM module. The GPS module will get the location coordinates and the micro-controller will send the coordinates to a control center via SMS. I would like to know the GSM modules that are available and which one will better suite my project.
Thank you!

    Seimens used to produce these.
They have since farmed out their GSM / Mobile module business to a company called Cinterion.
The MC55i is probably what you’re after for the finished product, but for development it might be easier to go with the MC55iT terminal.
All the controls for these are over the serial interface.
    Other manufacturers are:
    Telit
    Motorola
    Teltonika
    Sicom
    Mipot
Farnell development board kits, narrow the search down to Type: GSM/GPRS modules.
    Cheers.
