By admin Posted in: Uncategorized

Recently my computer has been acting up, it didn’t start properly sometimes and when I typed it typed in random capitals and symbols, today I switched on my laptop (Windows 7) and it got to the start screen with the windows logo and it wouldn’t go past it, I tried everything under Repair my computer but it just wouldn’t work, I then put it on recovery mode and it started up and had two users, one Administrator and one Other User, also I received a private phone call saying my computer is infected, has my computer got a virus or worse am I under threat from anything else!? Please help someone I am in so much distress over this.

I think you may have two options here
    1. Restore your computer to an earlier date on when you know everything was ok
    2. restore your computer back to the original factory settings.
If I was you I would take the second option make sure you have copied any personal files you need to a disk or another hard drive I suggest you get an external hard drive for this purpose.
then put your win 7 disk in the drive and run it, select new install

This sounds odd. Who was the private phone call from? Did you get the name and number?
I would reinstall your operating system from scratch, change all your passwords, if you are using wireless log on to your router and change the password (and re-enter it on your laptop), making sure the connection is encrypted.
If you suspect your personal details may have been compromised, it’s worth opening an account with a credit reference company (Equifax or Experion) which will alert you in case anyone tries to apply for credit in your name – identity theft. I did this and it helps relieve stress.
